Community Life

"We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another."

 (I John 3:16)

Third Reformed Church has various ministries that encourage congregational members to nurture their faith with God and develop the body of Christ in fellowship of a small group.

Fellowship activities

Throughout the year, we schedule fellowship activities to bring our church and community closer together. Events include bowling, a church picnic after Labor Day, children's day, Pizza Lunch the third Sunday of each month, an annual Block Party with St. Francis Roman Catholic Church on the last Tuesday of August, and our Backyard Bash the last Wednesday in July to kick off VBS. Other events throughout the year include "What's for Dinner?", organized a few times a year on a Friday night at church members' homes, and an inter-generational church retreat in March.

Check the calendar for upcoming events.

LIFT: “Life in faith together”

  • Wednesdays, 5:30–7:30 p.m.

The church and the neighborhood community are invited to share a meal, intergenerational drama and song, and then educational and exciting activities for all ages.

We begin each evening with a meal at 5:30 PM and then there are activities for children, such as Bible stories, crafts, and games, as well as activities for youth and adults.

LIFT Elementary Youth (Kindergarten through Fifth Grade): Following family dinner, children are dismissed to the large group activity room for creative dramas and singing, followed by a craft, games, and various activities.  The year is organized around a series of six week units. We also include service projects and field trips twice a year.

LIFT Weather Policy:  If Holland Public Schools are cancelled on a Wednesday due to weather there will be no LIFT dinner or classes.
