TRC Music Ensembles

Matins Choir sings weekly at the 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship service from September to May. They rehearse an introit and an anthem at 8:00 a.m. in the Choir Room (lower level room 4). This small group of 10-15 singers is made up of people who love to sing but cannot commit to a weekday evening rehearsal. All ages and voice parts are welcome and no audition is necessary. Sanctuary Choir sings weekly at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service from September to May and continues at the 10:00 a.m. service in the month of June. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m. in the Choir Room (lower level room 4). When TASC is held, many choir members come to church for supper and rehearsal. This group regularly participates in additional services including a community hymn festival, the annual carol service and performs major choral works on occasion. With an understanding of how busy our members are, choir members are simply expected to participate as fully as they are able. It is hoped that will mean regular attendance at rehearsals and Sunday services. When attendance is not possible, choir members are encouraged to communicate absences in advance. High School to Adult ages are welcome and no audition is necessary. (Linda Strouf, Director) <return>

Handbell Choir plays regularly in both worship services and in the annual carol service or Christmas Eve service. Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons from 5:00-5:55 p.m. in the Bell Choir Room (lower level room 3). No bell experience is required; reading music is helpful but not required. All ages are welcome, though you must be tall enough to see over the tables! Come and ring if singing’s not your thing! (Linda Strouf, Director) <return>

Children’s Choir meets weekly at the conclusion of Sunday school from 10:30-10:45 a.m. in the lower level room 12. Children ages 4 through 2 nd grade learn to sing songs praising God and share them in worship regularly. (Mary Van Voorst, Director)

Youth Choir sings regularly in worship and also spends a few months learning Handchimes to play in worship. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings from 9:15-9:40 a.m. in the lower level room 12 or in the Bell Choir Room (lower level room 3). This choir is made up of youth in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. High School Choir, grades 9-12, sings regularly in both worship services and provides the main musical offerings in the annual Youth Sunday service. Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 p.m. in the Choir Room (lower level room 4). The choir is directed by Hope College student, Libby Skaff and accompanied by Hope College Student, Jeff Brown. <return>
